Template Letters

I have created a template complaint letter to help parents that are currently facing significant delays to the EHC needs assessment process. The legal deadline is 20 weeks, I am currently seeing 40-50 week EHCNA's on a daily basis.

I have therefore created a template letter which you can use to complain directly to the Local Authority without needing to pay me to write a letter.

Please note, the above letter is only relevant for cases where the LA agreed to assess straight away, it is not relevant to cases where the LA initially refused to assess and you had to appeal to tribunal.

Applying for an EHC Needs Assessment (EHCNA)

EHCNA applications can be submitted by school but they can also be submitted by the parent.

IPSEA provides great, simple advice on how to make the request for an EHCNA. It may be that you decide to apply for yourself rather than asking an advocate such as me to do it for you.

Appeals

Appeals can also be submitted to the tribunal directly by parents without needing representation.

School/Nursery Support

Parents with SEN children often feel like schools can be a tricky place.

Parents are often made to feel like if they ask for support for their child, they're being difficult.
